Join DVAPT on Saturday April 14, 2018 10: 30 am-11:30 am for a casual morning tour and discussion of the new exhibit at the Main Line Art Center " What Is and What If"?
What I noticed in this exhibit was the work done by Samantha Holmes on the relief of stained glass art emphasizing the seams in between the glass. I thought of this as the parts of ourselves or shadow preferences that are not visible at first.

"What Is & What If, the 14th annual Betsy Meyer Memorial Exhibition features the 2018 Meyer Family Award for Contemporary Art recipients. The exhibition is curated by Chelsea Markowitz, Curator of Exhibitions at Main Line Art Center, and features 2018 Meyer Family Award for Contemporary Art recipients James B. Abbott (Photography | Ardmore, PA), Gregory Brellochs (Drawing | Philadelphia, PA), and Samantha Holmes (Mosaic, Sculpture & Installation | Bronx, New York). Through photography, drawing, and sculpture these artists investigate human perception, interpretation, and conceptual forces, challenging us to examine our environments and the world around us. By means of creative exploration, these artists analyze historical contexts to create new innovative landscapes, leaving us to question what is and what could be."
